Mr. Acosta ends his vitriolic statement with the quote, "the respect for the rights of others is peace." I guess he must not sleep very well then, since he shows absolutely no respect for the rights of the 75 dissidents who are serving up to 28 years in prison.

I don't know the specifics of the charges regarding supposed censorship of a document he submitted to this site, but he seems to think it is his right to post on other people's websites documents and then demand that they remain there forever, otherwise it is censorship. Meanwhile, most Cubans are prevented from reading this website, along with most other websites.

Censorship is when the government prevents people from reading or in this case accessing the web freely. Owners of a website have as much right to choose what to include or exclude as do editors of a magazine. And in any case, Mr. Acosta and others who share his views can freely post their comments here at this blog site.

Mr. Acosta seems to think that Karen having served in the military somehow discredits her. He also dismisses people who call for the end of the embargo on Cuba while at the same time urging the release of prisoners of conscience there. It seems he is content with nothing short of sycophantic admirers of Castro who will faithfully defend every repressive measure undertaken in his country, no matter how inhumane.

I had the same problem finding comments Mr Acosta might have had. Most blogs reviel the comments by clicking on the comment button (In my experience). For some reason in this blog I had to click on trackback and then a further hyperlink. This may have not been apparent to him (as it eluded myself for quite a while).
Perhaps it is the way the blog is set up - perhaps it is the way my computer is set up-
but clearly this possibility exists.

Perhaps he jumped to the erroneous conclusion that he had been "edited out" and was overwhelmed with a sense of hypocrisy.

Cross cultural communications are not easy. Effective communications requires a lot of "calm and steady” work.

Certainly Karen has the right to "set the agenda" of her writing but the perception of stacking the deck by editing responses weakens the concept of a "real dialogue". Of course, Karen did not do this "hypocrtical editing" but unfortunately that was his perception as sit was mine untill I figured it out
