Those are interesting ideas--I've been looking for essay ideas that were about experiences I didn't have.

I am the wife of a retired Navy Chief and a librarian. Are you going to include anything about those wait and home and hold down jobs, house, and family? Are you going to include homecomings? (Those make the wait worthwhile and is the part I miss most from my past life.)

Hm. This is a completely different side of you than what I've seen before. Almost makes me wonder if your blog has been hacked.

Sounds good to me (another woman veteran and librarian - hoo yah). Regarding the language essay: is this going to be USAF centered? By and large (a phrase coming from the British Navy in the days of sail), the biggest contributions to our language have been from the Navy. Of course, the scuttlebutt is that I'm biased. On second thought, perhaps much of our language isn't fit for public consumption. hmm.
