If you’re catching up from vacation and wondering what the heck happened to the design of FRL, the Blog Problems category walks you through some of the saga. In a nutshell, FRL usage went out of control, and to eliminate problems I put FRL in a very basic design and am watching usage. Dreamhost has actually been very nice and praised me for working so hard to address the usage issues. I see that usage of the mt-comments.cgi (since renamed) is now down a huge chunk. Trackbacks won’t be reenabled until I upgrade to MT 3.2… which in turn I won’t do until early August so that other people can fry their blogs with beta software and I can learn from their experiences!
