I just listened to the show. Thanks for being so articulate. That reflects well on our profession.

Google sent me an email to say the same and I've been playing phone tag with somewhere there, BUT: my point still stands. Pointing me to a couple of items with Worldcat records doesn't answer my original questions. Are these on all items? Why aren't they on the items I viewed? What is the plan? Why didn't the libraries request this? Am I the only one wondering about an arrangement to put books in a database without links back to the library records? Hello? Hello? I am not faulting Google on this one, I'm wondering whether the Big Five was too dazzled by the prospect of free digitization to ask the right questions.

A point of clarification on links to Open WorldCat from Google Book Search. Google is inserting "find in a library" links for books digitized from library collections. These links appear on the table of contents page, underneath the links to booksellers. We're still working on the matching, so they're not yet on all library-contributed books, but that's our goal.
