You said:

Peet's french roast is a strong argument for intelligent design.

Amen, I completely agree. I have to order Peet's (no outlets here in the wilds of northern Texas), but it is worth the money.

Michelle, I'm honored that you post to little old FRL! Stonestown has very powerful Amazonian associations for me. The last time we saw a movie at Stonestown I put 50 cents in a machine and won an immense stuffed animal. I'm not sure what that has to do with exercising... though I'm glad I didn't win a cauliflower!

No, you cannot read while you ice skate ;)

Though you can certainly waste a lot of time reading *about* ice skating when you're trying to perfect a jump or a turn. I have a shelf full of books on choreography, conditioning, jump technique, etc. And like the library world, there are many many websites dedicated to learners, spectators etc to occupy your time.

When I'm on the ice, it's the one time when I'm not reading anything of any kind. It's a nice break from everything.

Happy new year!

Karen, what a splendiferous list! I know what you mean about the Y. At Stonestown, though, there's this lonely bike beside the thermostat on the second floor that others seem to avoid, so I'm usually able to go over my time limit there. Problem is, you have to call two days in advance, at precisely 7 a.m., to get reservations for child care, and I'm never that organized.

Chronicles is playing just around the corner from me at the Balboa and I'm so hoping to see it before it disappears--those were my favorite books as a young reader.

Yes, send your essays out! You must!
