I was kind of joking, about the low voter turnout in ALA council elections (although I thought people have been elected with as little as 1600 votes).

Hmm, I think that library needs an interim director. Either that, or someone who walks on water.

Actaully, you need about 1900 votes to win a seat on Council. But for a new service it is getting traction.

Last issue had a job ad featured for Farmington CT. The Director there retired after a long tenure, and is well respected in the state. The Town has been supportive of the Library. I wonder what that ad cost, and how it will affect the candidate pool. It pays well (it is Connecticut), but the cost of living in suburban Hartford area is high -- compared to much of the US.

591 votes is not that much less than the voter turnout for ALA council elections, although I would guess there were several cases of one person voting more than once, on either side of the issue.
