Sympathies Karen! I've read many of your writings over the years, but never wrote/posted to you before. I'm trying to move more of my thoughts from work email (where they yield unentended negative feedback, probably because not many of campus dialogue via email so they don't know what to make of it) and into the blogosphere since so many info pros I respect are blogging.
Back to the topic, I don't have the sweats (yet?) but the erractic period is quite annoying. Otherwise I THINK I feel quite fine. But then one wonders if things (like the stress of tenure dossier prep!) that really bug one would not have 10 years ago?! Well, life is a journey, gotta go along it.

Some folks have said that meds help... I did estrogen for a while and honestly, I did much better by cutting back on caffeine, alcohol, and anything else that overstimulated me (working out at the Y past 6:30 p.m. is a no-no).

That just sounds scary. Thank goodness I still have a few years to prepare.
