Tom, this is specific to the CommentPress theme -- were you using that? I have it on a pristine installation of WordPress used just for this project -- the site is fine with any other theme, won't display posts with CommentPress. Apparently this problem is universal in the CommentPress-WP-2.3.1 configuration, though I agree it could be related to a default plugin. Institute for the Future of the Book supposedly has this on the docket to fix...

More bothersome is the buggy WP 2.3.1 editor! Have you seen that -- largely with long posts?

Did you ever solve this? [A glance at the blog itself indicates you maybe didn't.]

I had something similar going on and finally tracked it down to a plugin. I had a version of PHP Markdown that, when I upgraded Wordpress to 2.3.1, ceased to display posts. I had headlines but no posts.

I upgraded the plugin (after first simply deactivating it to test my theory) and, voila, problem solved.

Look in your plugins and see if there are any in there, like Markdown, that intercept the output before it displays.

Good luck.

Lol

It gets better. WP 2.3.1 has a funky editing box that is smooshing my posts together. So now I have three half-drafted presentations scattered across three funky technologies... and it's too late to back out!

I admire those who have no problems with technology. I can't get my RSS feeds or tags to work in my blog, so I surrender to that side of things.

Btw, I replace the "pen" with "draft" in my Jack Kerouc lede.
