		<description>Oh, no! I hope you're feeling better soon! And thanks for the links. I checked out Library Thing a while ago, and while I wasn't into adding all of my books, now I find it more tempting. It would be fun to compare books with the likes of Sylvia Plath.</description>

		<description>About that PLA Bylaws change. Here is a little more background.

A few years ago, when our friend Christine was heavily involved, PLA went through a restructuring which got rid of sections and the separate, overlapping governance committees within each section.

I only joined the PLA Board this year, but the process of talking about the re-structuring has been going on at the Board level for about two years.

Here is the kicker, PLA has decided that the "Communities of Practice" can have virtual participation since they are not sections or committees under ALA terms.

I hope it works. Many of our friends on PUBLIB, and other public library staff, will then be able to be active ALA members.</description>
