Maybe this post was for the second camp. I'm very fortunate to have a supervisor who is more coach/mentor and not trying to mold me in her image (good thing, as she's a lot taller and my clothes wouldn't fit any more). I wish I were in the first camp -- who doesn't want to be a "natural" -- but I'm glad I just learned anything at all. ;-) I think some people are natural supervisors, some have to learn, and some never learn.
