Please tell me WHY you think OBAMA has proven to be such a WORTHY president. I do understand your Pallin worries -- that frightens me to to no end. But put Pallin and Obama together -- in regards to what they have done "with their position in politics" and you will see that he is no more ready to be voted in as president as she is to assume the position if necessary.

Obama might show leadership but he has not proven leadership. Ask anyone in the state of Illinois - he cannot prove he was a leader there at all. Right now, he is promises only. Please remember that in the next 4 years.

Thank you, sweetheart, for holding firm. Don't stand down yet: a lot of people still need to hear this, and few write better than you.

Let this give you hope: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjXyqcx-mYY&feature=related "Yes we can" by will.i.am

Thank you for writing this! You helped inspire me to write a post with similar themes, "Politics and Social Networking," on my blog, ArchivesNext.

This is not a time for sitting on the sidelines. We must all use whatever resources we have, and that includes our blogs.

I too am an unabashedly liberal Democrat. I am commenting about politics on my blog now more than ever. Librarians must speak up, especially if you agree with my politics. ;-)

THANK YOU. I'm also a liberal Democrat who blogs a LOT about politics in my personal communities but mostly avoids it in library communities. This year, however, I've come to resent the continued silence by most librarians regarding all things political. This particular election is simply too important. I think everyone should read Questioning Library Neutrality: Essays from Progressive Librarian. Sometimes it's just our responsibility to speak out.
