I think I've been reacting to the OCLC report that found that librarians (not libraries but librarians) are key to the public's opinion of library service, which ties into funding. I agree that they probably could have expanded this to say /library workers/ since the public doesn't have any idea of the distinction... but thence the source. Peggy, I appreciate your comment. Perhaps it should say "libraries rock". Librarians do rock, no doubt but so do all the other library workers that make libraries work! Let's not forget about the library assistants, technicians, IT people, etc. without whom libraries would not function. I don’t want to be picky but I have an issue with the title of this post.
