Ah... We chatted at The Liaison for a while Sunday night during ALA. It was good chatting with you.

I've not been on your blog in quite a while (work's been busy) that I didn't know you'd changed positions-- and I was so exhausted (ALA was very much a working conference for me) that I didn't put two and two together until now...

Not EB1, EBL. They require all users to authenticate so that they can keep track of how much each user prints, to ensure that nobody prints more than a permissible amount of any title.

We did it by setting up a local system that does the authentication and passes a unique, opaque, token to EBL. They can tell how much stuff user 16934 has printed, but they don't have any information about who that user is.

They're much stricter than the publishers that we deal with, but that's because they're an aggregator. Just like ProQuest has embargoes with the publishers, EBL has its own restrictions.

We have been buying more and more ebooks here, however, we ran into a bit of an issue with EBl, who after signing with them, demanded that we have users authenticate on campus (as well as off), and tie the authentication with user info.

We are at an impasse with them over this right now.

Hi, we're a CONTENTdm site, and I'd be really interested in learning more about the libraries involved in the demo and how they were using CONTENTdm. Can you point me to any info?
