Proquest also called me to ask a few questions about how to do this.
You know, I never asked the question in the back of my mind: Why did they call me? Because of this blog? MPOW? Something else? But I gave them a good half-hour. It was enlightened self-interest: one of my libraries offers ProQuest and I probably use ProQuest more than any other databases. I would *luv* RSS feeds for ProQuest.
Anyway, neato on this front. Jenny’s write-up is good. I too talked to Proquest about roll-your-own RSS feeds, on the table for MPOW in 2005-2006, if we can afford it after other improvements such as a new search engine and Amazon-style user ratings.
I brought up that it would be really nice to have the feeds set up to automatically go into popular aggregators, such as Bloglines.
Any of you talk to ProQuest, as well?
