Roy Tennant tackles the F-word head-on in this LJ article about women in technology. Good for him not to leave this discussion for the same ten women to carry over and over and over!

I read the article this afternoon on my coffee break and it gladdened my heart beyond measure. Thanks Roy!
Karen:
Of course, the best article on the issue of gender and technology was written ten years ago by Karen Coyle: “How Hard Can it Be?” (http://www.kcoyle.net/howhard.html). It’s a fabulous piece and resonates just as much today (if not more) than it did when it first appeared in print.
I will admit that I was surprised that Roy didn’t cite it, since I’m sure he is aware of it (Karen is a former colleague of his at CDL).

Well… I woke up the other morning and realized I had left my friend Hannah out of the acknowledgments for my thesis. I can probably fix that, but it’s not always fixable.
Plus there is something compelling about a man making the case on his own. In many ways, Roy is speaking *to men* in that piece. We need that effort.
