Google Features MPOW in Library Newsletter

My Place Of Work is featured in the latest Google newsletter. This valuable outreach comes on top of the recent radio spots on KQED and our less recent decision to run an RSS feed–we’re rapidly approaching 14,000 Bloglines subscribers (up from less than 3,000 a same time last year), and MPOW itself is now getting over 10 million hits per month.

Oh, the delicious thrill of having a great product that people know about. (More than yesterday, anyway; I could still walk down a crowded street and not find anyone who knows MPOW.) So many wonderful library services out there, and not enough people know about them. Last night over dinner with friends, I described the content-licious databases provided by the university I attend, and they joked that my usage probably quadrupled their statistics for the year. Based on the surprised faces of my fellow students (hardly intellectual slouches) when they see what I can pull out of the Gale Lit database or MLA or historical New York Times–“Look! Karen, she make fire!” “Oooh!”–my friends’ jokes were funny, but also all too painfully possible.
