LII’s Name Ripped Off

Some anonymous blogger stole LII’s name, and LIS Blogsource immediately posted this blog without stopping to ask, “gee, is this name familiar?” I am in close contact with LII leadership, and they advise me LII is not responsible for the six-post blog (which should be immediately apparent when you read the introduction).

My guess is this blog is the work of a library student who hasn’t taken reference classes yet. Either that, or let it be nefarious and cruelly intentional. I’d hate to think this blog was the work of someone with a degree in library science.

The blog in question requires registration to post a comment, and has no personal information. But gee, it has a Web site and an Atom feed, so it must be real ofishul! I’ll go register and find out.

I really did mean to register my suspicions – I really did forget over dinner – I really am just human. Sorry.

  2. I replied to your LISNews posting. It must be willful but perhaps not malicious? I also hope that the person is a student. There are lots of typos, it isn’t really in order… there are lots of problems. A blog is a terrible format for that content.
